7th World Water Forum moves from solutions to implementation

摘要

The 7th World Water Forum, which took place in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, Korea, in April, had the overall theme of Water for our Future', and focused particularly on moving from policies and solutions, to implementing concrete actions. More than 400 sessions and panels were grouped within four 'Processes': the Political Process, the Thematic Process, the Regional Process, and (for the first time this year) the Science and Technology Process. Nearly 41 000 participants from 168 countries registered for the event, which represented a record for a World Water Forum. In this report, we have focused on overviews of some of the sessions covering water infrastructure, climate change resilience, sustainable development, adaptive management techniques, financing and transboundary issues. We also present highlights from the Opening Ceremony, and the Ministerial Declaration.
