摘要

The 126 MW Dagachhu run-of-river hydro plant in Bhutan began full service on 15 March, with the commissioning of the second unit. The first 63 MW unit was commissioned in February 2015 (H&D Issue 2,2015). The Dagachhu project, which is located in Dagana Dzongkhag in southwestern Bhutan, on the river Dagachhu upstream of its confluence with the Punatsangchhu, was developed and is owned and operated by a joint venture between Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, Druk Green Power Corporation, owned by the Royal Government of Bhutan, and the National Pension & Provident Fund of Bhutan. Dagachhu is the first cross-border project registered under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Bhutan's first public-private partnership in infrastructure, and the first hydro project completed under Bhutanese management.
