Organized by Turkish Water Institute (SUEN), the 3rd Istanbul International Water Forum took place from 27 to 29 May. More than 3000 delegates participated at the event, which comprised eight thematic sessions under the two main themes: Water security and Legal aspects of water. There were 21 side events, as well as an exhibition. The Forum was inaugurated with the opening speech of SUEN President Prof. Ahmet M. Saatci. The ceremony continued with the messages from water leaders including Prof. Veysel Eroglu (Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs, Turkey), Dogan Altinbilek (IWRA President), Prof Benedito Braga (WWC President), Jung Moo Lee (Chair of National Committee for the 7th WWF) and Klaus Toepfer (Founding Director of IASS).
