摘要

Construction works are progressing at the Aksar Weir and Nazar scheme, in Hizan, Bitlis, Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. The investment company Kulak Construction Co Inc has the licence for power generation under the name of Aksar-Nazar Energy Production Co Ltd, in accordance with the related Turkish Electricity Market Law. With an installed capacity of 30.8 MW and average generation of 94.3 GWh/year, the project is one of the largest run-of-river type hydropower projects in the region. Erges Consulting Co Ltd is providing site supervision services and technical consultancy for design works. The project comprises a diversion weir, a 7195 m-long modified horseshoe sectioned tunnel, two syphon structures, a 65 m-deep vertical shaft, a 35 m-deep surge tank and, a powerhouse with three horizontal Francis turbines. The critical path for construction is considered as completion of the tunnel works, where excavation works from seven different faces have advanced beyond 50 per cent so far. Special measures are being taken, in view of difficult soil types and possibilities for landslides so that the project can be completed within the estimated budget and time. The project is scheduled for operation by the end of 2015.
