Germany has granted Togo €7.5 million (USS 10 million) for the refurbishment of the 65 MW Nangbeto storage hydropower station on the Mono river in Togo. A financing agreement was signed in Lome, the capital of Togo, on 24 September by the German Ambassador and the Togolese Finance Minister. The dam was completed in 1987 to supply power to Togo and Benin, and is operated by the Communaute Electrique du Benin.
