Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) also invites sealed bids, by 15 September, for the rehabilitation of the 96 MW Zvornik run-of-river hydropower plant on the Drina river. The rehabilitation project, entailing the replacement of the plant's four 24 MW Kaplan turbines, is scheduled to start in 2013, and is expected to result in the plant's installed capacity being increased by 25 per cent to 120.4 MW, and average annual output from 477 to 551 GWh. The plant's first generating unit was originally commissioned in 1955. The project is be financed by Kreditanstalt fiir Wiederaufbau, which is to provide a €70 million loan on behalf of the German Government.
