Work at the 95 MW BuSarhals powerplant in Iceland is successfully moving forward, and the project is on schedule with more than 300 people involved in the construction work in recent months. The scheme is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2013. Production will be up to 585 GWh/year. The Budarhals plant will utilize fully the head from Porisvatn, below the Sultartanga plant. The concreting work has been completed on the powerhouse walls, and finishing work on the roof is underway. The intake structure has been constructed, and support walls and side walls are now being built to the side of the intake structure. The erection work on the steel penstock is under way at full capacity; so far seven of the 20 sections of the penstock have been put in place.
