摘要

The enlarged Cotter dam is now under construction in the Australian Capital Territory, and will replace the existing dam which has inadequate storage capacity. Originally constructed in 1915, the existing dam had a capacity of just 4 GL. The new project includes: 1.A main dam about 85 m high, located approximately 100 m downstream from the existing Cotter dam. The main dam will be a high paste RCC dam with an embankment volume of slightly more than 1 x 106 m3 of concrete, a stepped downstream face, and a central primary free overfall spillway of about 100 m wide and a capacity of 5600 m3/s; 2.Two saddle dam embankments over saddles in the right abutment ridge; 3.A conventional outlet system with an intake attached to the upstream face of the dam and an embedded pipe outlet.
