Early completion of four stations on the Upper Mattagami-Hound Chute system and solid progress at the Niagara Power Tunnel until the end of 2010 (see below) helped Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to offset disappointingly lower inflows in the third quarter of year. OPG announced in December that all four of its stations on the Upper Mattagami-Hound Chute redevelopment project had been brought into service ahead of schedule, and on budget. The four plants are Sandy Falls, Lower Sturgeon and Wawaitin on the Upper Mattagami, and the Hound Chute facility, which includes construction of an Obermeyer weir for regulation of levels on the Montreal river.
