摘要

In September 2010 the 6544 kW Sabunsuyu hydro station, close to the city of Adana, 50 km from Turkey's border with Syria, was commissioned. The powerplant, with a number of innovative features, has been built by developer ANG Energy, a subsidiary of the Kaya Group, to maximize discharge available at an irrigation scheme. ANG Energy acquired the licence to develop the hydroelectric potential of the irrigation canal which supplies water to the surrounding agricultural areas, over a distance of about 11 km, especially in the dry summer months. The concept provided for a discharge rate of 6.3 m~3/s which is conveyed from the canal via an inlet structure and supplied to the powerhouse through a 1.4 km-long DN 1.500 high-pressure steel pipe.
