The Karakuz project site is within the boundaries of Adana Province, located at Camlibel village. The dam will be on the Korkiin creek which is a tributary of upper Seyhan river at an elevation of 801 m. This project makes use of the total head of 570.8 m available between els. 831 m and 860.2 m of the basin to produce 305 GWh/year of energy at a hydroelectric plant with an installed capacity of 76 MW. The height of the dam will be 32 m from thalweg and the spillway will be of the uncontrolled overflow type on the concrete structure, and has been designed to pass a maximum flood of maximum 577 m~3/s (Q1000)- The diversion tunnel has a diameter of 4.5 m which provides a maximum capacity of 130 m~3/s. Water will be conveyed to the powerhouse by a concrete lined tunnel of 11 km length and 3 m diameter. At the end of the tunnel, penstocks 1350 m long and 2 m in diameter lead from a surge tank. The powerhouse has two units with 38 MW installed capacity each. Each unit has a maximum design capacity of 8.2 mVs.
