Hydropower is the one form of renewable energy which could be used in five of six key countries in East Asia to help deliver a three-fold increase in the share held in the generation mix by low-carbon resources, according to a recent report from the World Bank.rnAt present, low-carbon resources, including nuclear, hold a total of 17 per cent of the generation mix in the key six countries in the region: China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The bulk of the low carbon generation mix is hydro.
