The Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr Mohamed Nasr-Eldin Allam, has announced that final arrangements have been made with the African Development Bank in preparation for a € 2 million grant to upgrade the water facilities along the Nile and its tributaries, to make optimal use of the available water resources. The preparations are intended to formulate a general plan for the main hydraulic facilities on the Nile and main canals in Egypt, within the framework of studying the replace-rnment, rehabilitation and strengthening of more than 200 facilities up to the year 2050.
