A 10 MW wave power scheme planned for installation at Smoegen in Sweden is now waiting for permits from the Swedish Environmental Court and the EU; it will be the country's first commercial installation of this kind.rnThe Swedish Energy Agency will contribute SEK 139 million (€14 million) of the total € 25 million needed for the demonstration project and developing the technology for commercialization to Fortum and Seabased Industry, who will implement the project. The installed capacity will be approximately 10 MW, derived from 420 interconnected units. They will be similar to operating units already installed in Norway (see picture).
