Toshiba Corporation of Japan recently announced that its Chinese subsidiary, Toshiba Hydro Power (Hangzhou) Co Ltd (THPC), which is a joint venture with Sinohydro Corp of China, has completed an expansion of its assembly and machining shop, and the construction of an advanced hydraulic research laboratory, equipped with a modern hydro turbine testing facility. The plant will allow the company to manufacture 600 MW class hydro generating equipment, and also to double manufacturing output.
