The principal purpose of the dam is hydropower to supply the grid. The project is being undertaken by Consorcio Empresarial Salto Pilao (CESAP).rnCESAP awarded an EPC turnkey contract for implementation of the project to the Uniao de Empresas Fornecedoras de Salto Pilao (UNESAP).
