Hydro Tasmania Consulting, Australia, hosted a high-level Ministerial delegation from Sarawak, Malaysia, in March, which could lead to the development of further business opportunities in the hydro sector.rnThe delegation included the Minister of Planning and Resource Management and the Minister for Public Utilities, as well as several officials from the Ministry for Public Utilities and the Chairman of Sarawak Energy Berhad.The delegation visited Tasmania for three days, to visit hydropower plants, and other renewable energy and water infrastructure facilities. This followed a recent visit to Sarawak by Energy Minister David Llewellyn, Hydro Tasmania Chairman David Crean and General Manager of Hydro Tasmania Consulting, Scott Baddiley.rnHydro Tasmania Consulting has been working with Sarawak Energy Berhad since last year on a $1.6 million project involving feasibiltiy studies for four hydroelectric projects.In welcoming the Malaysian delegation to Tasmania, Baddiley said. "We have a long history of hydro-power development, operation and maintenance, and our reputation is well known internationally. It is very exciting to have clients such as Sarawak Energy Berhad visit the State and learn more about how we operate our power system.
