In March 1964 Emil Mosonyi was invited to take the chair of Hydraulic Structures and Water Resources Management of the Universitat Karlsruhe. He started his activities in October 1965 as Director of this Institute, and the Theodor-Rehbock-Laboratory for River Improvement, which is part of it. The results of his negotiations with the Kultursministerium Baden-Wiirttemberg made it possible to expand his staff substantially. Under his professional guidance, some of his students could start a career as research assistants in the Laboratory, and were involved in important project works.
