Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau, a Sri Lankan consulting firm, acting on behalf of Rwanda Mountain Tea, a privately owned tea producer based in Kigali, invites pre-qualification applications from eligible companies by 30 July to construct a 5 MW hydro project on the Giciye river in northeastern Rwanda.rnThe Mountain Tea Giciye project is to be built near Jomba, 150 km northeast of Kigali. The project will require the construction of a 4 in-high, 20 m-long concrete weir, a 2.5 km-long, 2.5 m-wide, concrete lined canal, a desilting tank downstream from the weir and a forebay structure at the tail end, trashracks and rakes, a 1 km-diameter, 130 m-long pen-rnstock, and a powerhouse of approximately 10 by 25 m to accommodate three 1670 kW horizontal Pelton turbine-generators.
