摘要

Cambodia has a total land area of 181 035 km~2 and a population of 14.4 million (June 2007). Annual precipitation varies between 1300 mm and 1500 mm. with 90 to 95 per cent falling in the wet season. The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology is responsible for the management of water resources and development of irrigation schemes. A number of small embankment dams are in operation, mostly for irrigation purposes. There is one rockfill dam that is higher than 15 m. The total gross water storage of all dams is 9.8 × 10~6 m~3. There is a legal framework covering environmental impact studies for water resources development projects.
