The US Trade and Development Agency has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Cameroon to provide a grant of US$ 695 000 for an investment analysis of the proposed 75 MW Bini a Warak hydropower project, which would be built at Warak on the Vina North river in Cameroon's Northern Province. Under the agreement signed on 16 May, a US firm would be recruited to carry out the study, which will also examine construction of transmission and distribution lines and substations to enable power supply in northern Cameroon and for export to Chad and Nigeria.
