BC Hydro has completed the C$ 65 million (US$ 52.46 million) seismic upgrade of the Coquitlam dam, which included construction of a new earth- and rockfill embankment downstream from the original dam at Coquitlam lake reservoir. The new dam is 30 m high and 300 m long. More than 4000 m~3 of concrete, 65 000 kg of steel, and 300 000 m~3 of glacial till, sand, gravel and rock went into the construction of the dam.
