Inertia of the global system will inevitably lead to climate changes, irrespective of the actions taken now, according to the report 'Meeting The Climate Challenge' issued by the International Climate Change Task Force. This makes it all the more urgent to implement mitigating measures now. The report, published on 24 January, urges the developed countries (G8) to accept greater responsibility for assisting developing countries to adapt to climate change.
