Nigeria's power sector faces a number of challenges: the power supply is erratic, and less than 40 per cent of the population has access to a regular electricity supply. Various reforms are now underway to ameliorate this situation, and hydropower will play a major role in meeting future needs. Projects under consideration for development are described here.
