As the aging process goes forward, realizing that the events of one's youth have become forgotten pieces of history that are rarely, if ever, mentioned is always sobering. Richard H. Cummings's Radio Free Europe's "Crusade for Freedom" takes us back to a bygone era when individuals great and small could come together in a purposeful, national, public-private endeavor. Cummings comes to his task with considerable experience with Radio Free Europe (RFE)-both directly and in terms of personal research.
