I read with interest the article in IJMEE 34(1) by N. J. Dembi on the critical radius of insulation. The extension to variable heat transfer coefficient is nicely done. I would demur where the author claims that the case with constant coefficient is well known for spheres as well as cylinders, the former appearing but sparsely in the literature. Your readers therefore may like to be reminded of an earlier paper in your journal giving the spherical result, with its two critical values: J. D. Lewins and T. T. Cockerill, 'On the teapot and its cosy', IJMEE, 22(4) (1994), 301-386.
