Permabit Technology Corporation has announced its Storage Assessment Service, a new professional service offering for enterprise customers. The new service analyzes information composition on primary storage and calculates the cost savings from implementation of Permabit's Enterprise Archive for management of non-transactional and static data. "With fixed-information growing at greater than 50 percent for most enterprises today and IT budgets declining, legacy approaches to managing primary storage capacity growth must be rethought," said Tom Cook, CEO, Permabit. "With our Storage Assessment Service, we prove the benefit of Permabit's solution in dollars, ROI and days payback - and we deliver it. Depending on the customer environment, we've been able to save enterprises millions of dollars in annual expenditure by reducing primary storage budgets by one-third or more."
