摘要

The VME bus has been widely used in embedded systems due to its rigorous design, stable specifications, and the fact that it has enjoyed a strong support form multiple vendors. However, the VME bus still lacks some features that are essential to safety-critical systems, such as avionics. This article addresses the issue of lack of capability of fault containment in the current specification of the VME bus and proposes a strong partitioning protocol for interprocessor communication for a VME-based system.
