The authros present an analytical model and analytical results for the performance of asynchronous multibuffered Banyan network with variable packet length. Previous work involving analytical results has focused on synchronous multibuffered Banyan networks with fixed packet length; there have been very few analytical studies on the performance of asynchronous Bayan networks. These studies have assumed unbuffered aynchronous Banayan networks, but studied buffered asynchronous networks only by means of simulation.
