The damaging effect of trucks is expressed in term of truck equivalency factors. These factors are calculated for the level highway pavements only. This paper a thorough field and theoretical study concerning the increased damage to uphill flexible pavements from 11.22+2.22 full-trailer truck. For this purpose, a set of field surveys were done for both full-trailer truck and uphill pavements. The data obtained from these surveys are axle loads; some geometrical characteristics for full-trailer truck and the range of the uphill slopes in kerbala city. In addition, some of the data of uphill slopes for other Iraqi cities were obtained from previous surveys. Due to axle load redistribution on the uphill slopes, making use of equilibrium equations to determine the axle loads on uphill slopes assuming uniform motion. These axle loads were used to determine the truck equivalency factors. This paper represents the results of the truck equivalency factors as a set of design charts for various uphill slopes, H/B ratio (height of the center of gravity of the truck above the pavement to the length of the wheel base), and structural number for a terminal level of serviceability of 2.5. The results of this work allowed the conclusion that the truck equivalency factors for full-trailer truck type 11.22+2.22 on uphill pavement are much higher than those on level pavement. The effect of uphill slopes should be taken into account in the design of flexible pavement.
