There are lots of reasons to dislike this book. Firstly, it falls between several stools in terms of style: it is not an easy read for practitioners, nor does it conform to the normal conventions of an academic study; as a technical manual, it falls a long way short of classics like Vollman et al. (1997) in terms of clarity and authority. Secondly, it is an extended polemic for a particular vision of management - Goldratt's Theory of Constraints - which offers nothing by way of convincing objective evidence.
