The uncertainty and turbulence in markets as well as the rise of international complex networks connecting firms all over the world has created a growing need for flexible, reconfigurable and responsive supply chains. As a result logistics is becoming more complex and critical to sustain competitive advantage. The authors' stated aim for the book is to provide valuable insights on "how to plan and optimize logistics networks supported by modern IT and management concepts".
