The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is finalising new fuel efficiency standards that will be adopted by automakers for vehicles made from 2017-2025. These new standards, of course intended to cut greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality, will increase the fuel economy for cars and light trucks to 54.5 miles per gallon. Singapore is extending its Productivity & Innovation Credit scheme, and also making it easier for firms to apply. Firms spending n a range of productivity and innovation activities can get grants for up to 60 percent of the total cost, up to a total payout of $50k (up from $30k previously).
