Broadband dual-polarized lens antenna based on multimode Huygens’ surfaces

摘要

In this article, a dual-polarized lens antenna system based on isotropic Huygens’rnsurfaces is proposed for 12 GHz applications. The surface lens is composed of subwavelengthrnmetallic patches etched on a 2-layer dielectric substrate, which canrnrealize high transmission efficiency and large phase shift (covering 0u0001–360u0001) over arnwide bandwidth (11.0–13.0 GHz). The multimode resonances in the unit cell arerndetailed analyzed. The feed antenna at the focal point of the lens is a broadbandrndual-polarized microstrip antenna. Both the simulated and measured results demonstraternthat the dual-polarized lens antenna system can realize the input ports isolationrnof more than 25 dB, and the gain of more than 17.0 dB.
