The cold-formed purlin receives both lateral and rotational restraints from the trapezoidal sheeting. The rotational stiffness C (D) can be determined by calculation methods recommended in Eurocode 3-1-3, but only in limited cases, otherwise through experiments and calculations. An advanced numerical model of the sheeting to purlin connection was used to simulate the advised standard test.
