摘要

Off-road haul trucks have a number of components and subsystems that compromise mechanical availability. In the case of ultra-class haulers, tyres are non-redundant, costly components; and failures can be problematic from the aspects of safety and loss productivity. Road conditions and ambient temperature are external factors that affect tyre life. This paper considers an analysis of tyre failures for an operating oilsands mine based on statistical analysis of field data. This understanding can be used to determine haul truck tyre durability related to seasonal effects. Issues of consistent definitions for tyre condition codes are also important for benchmarking. Some limitations of the analysis are the classification accuracy of faults by technicians and limited information of the severity of service that individual tyres experience.
