摘要

Effective maintenance strategy involves high degree of professionalism in terms of decisions taken regarding manpower, time and other resources. The maintenance activity should primarily concentrate on overhauling and repairing the failed system/component. The plant operations have to be run for the maximum time with downtime at the lowest possible level. This necessitates the need for efficient maintenance practice. Maintenance management requires planning and monitoring of maintenance activities at plants distributed across multiple locations or sharing work groups/resources belonging to different plants. This paper deals with the development of enterprise resource planning module for maintenance management for a combined cycle power plant of a power generating station. Various equipments, parameters and their groups, work groups, cost components and accounting heads used in the module are introduced. The maintenance work cycle is explained in detail beginning with work request and concluding with cost estimation and planning. The results of the study, before and after the implementation of this module are compared. It was found out that the use of this module greatly enhanced the synchronization of maintenance activities and brought down non value added maintenance related work.
