The paper gives the generalized data on the up-to-date level of design and production of spiroid gears and gearboxes. The general information about spiroid gears, advantages of geometry and kinematics of their engagement are described; the existing structure of spiroid gears designing process and certain features of their production are given; prospective application areas of spiroid gears and gearboxes are stated.
