摘要

One of the greatest influences on fossil fuel utility boiler design in the last 25 years has been the development and implementation of NOx reduction processes. Increasing public and political awareness of the importance of NOx reductions has been matched worldwide by the development of cost-effective and imaginative ways of controlling levels of NOx produced during power generation with fossil fuels. In 25 years, the industry has moved from its first, uncertain attempts to control NOx formation in the furnace through to an ability to control or remove over 90 per cent of what would otherwise be released to the atmosphere.
