The fundamental principle by which power is generated from a steam turbine has not changed since Peter Brotherhood developed its first turbine over 100 years ago. However, over past 25 years turbine technology has evolved to meet the increasingly different fuels used in power generation. The fastest growing market in recent years is probably that which can be generically described as 'environmental' in particular, waste-to-energy schemes.
