Russian Railways (RZD), Iranian Islamic Republic Railways (RAI), and Azerbaijan Railway (ADDY), have agreed to form a joint venture that will be responsible for constructing the 350kmrnline from Qazvin, northwest of Tehran, to Rasht and the Caspian Sea port of Astara in Azerbaijan.rnRZD completed a feasibility study last November, which was approved this month byrnboth RAI and ADDY. The three railways have agreed to form the joint venture company and each will invest an equal amount in the project.
