The delegation of responsibility for fleet maintenance to the original train manufacturer is an increasingly attractive and common option. While offering a choice of train and train equipment maintenance support packages, Bombardier's preferred approach is full fleet maintenance, which represents the most far-reaching solution in the portfolio. "We maintain more than 7300 trains daily across the world, and it clearly makes sense to maximise and cross-filter the knowledge we acquire through this involvement," said Mr Andrew Lezala, president of Bombardier Transportation Services.
