Ukraine imported only 2,600 tonnes of beet sugar in the first quarter of 2011 with the major share supplied by Belarus, industry sources said. Imports of raw cane sugar under the 267,800 tonne TRQ (tariff rate quota) were pegged at zero compared with 21,800 tonnes imported in the first quarter of 2010.
