The sugar industry is increasingly moving towards fully continuous processing. High grade continuous centrifugals(HGCCs)have been making significant advances lately although batch centrifugals are still the industry standard. This paper provides a com parison between batch centrifugals and HGCCs and note that the different types have different suitablities for differing factory situations. HGCCs offer reductions in capital cost, power demand and operational costs.
