Owing to their low viscosity, there is a much greater tendency for inks to run on coarse cloth during digital textile printing than with a conventional printing paste. With "LupreJet HD", BASF Performance Chemicals for Textiles have developed a new product for textile pretreatment that claims to solve this problem. This concentrate prepares the fabric for digital inkjet printing so that compared with untreated fabric, the printed image with LupreJet HD produces clearer contours and an increased brilliance. Flags, banners, clothing, bedlinen and curtains are distinguished by an increased colour intensity The product was primarily designed for treating textiles made of 100% polyester.
