The book by Harry Bruce examines Internet usage from the perspective of the user. The goal is to develop an understanding of how the Internet is affecting the working and personal lives of those that access the network for business or pleasure. A case is made for a change in the evolution of the Internet. Change in focus that is occurring is based on research studies that have examined Internet users and not the technology. Previously, the evolution was driven by technology. But Bruce's thesis is that there has been a change toward supporting user needs that will drive Internet expansion. This book discusses the basis for this change in evolution and its impact on the Internet. There is an excellent bibliography that can be a source for historical and recent studies on Internet usage.
