Is lycos CEO bob davis going to be foiled again? It's unlikely, analysts say, but Daws can hardly be pleased with the ho-hum reaction to Lycos' second attempt at a mega-merger: a $12.5 billion all-stock deal with Terra Networks, a. portal from Spain. Last year, investors killed a proposed merger with USA Networks because they felt Lycos was being undervalued. This year, it seems there's little to groan about and plenty to cheer about, as Terra plans to buy the company for $97.55 a share-more than a $40 premium over Lycos' closing price of $56 on May 24.
