摘要

High temperature microscope -Using this technique, the specimen is heated and monitored for signs of melting. The test consists of heating an agglomerated sample pressed into the form of a cube or cylinder at a controlled rate, and then monitoring the changes in sample dimensions. Shapes corresponding to' 'softening,'' "hemispherical" and "fluidity" are specified, and the temperatures at which the sample achieves these shapes are recorded. The Lentz high temperature microscope test is the most widely used of the high temperature microscope tests.
