Dissolution experiments of solid alumina in four kinds of liquid slags corresponding to cover-slags, LF-slag and fluorspar were conducted at 1600℃ under an atmosphere of dry air. The local dissolution rates of alumina and the flow velocities and wetting behaviors around the meniscus line were analyzed with the Marangoni number.
