Expectations tor the 2010 international climate negotiations in Cancun were far more modest than 2009s Copenhagen conference, which allowed many to declare the December 2010 meeting of the 190 nations that are party to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change a success. But key decisions on how to move forward on a global system to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions after the Kyoto Protocol ends in 2012 were left until the next meeting in, to be held from November 28 to December 9,2011.
